Getting Started

What is Civomir?

Civomir is a browser-based nation simulation game where you create and manage your own nation. You'll build infrastructure, develop your economy, train military forces, engage in diplomacy, and compete with other player-controlled nations.

How do I get started?

After registering and creating your nation, follow these steps:

  1. Build basic infrastructure (farms, mines, factories) to establish resource production
  2. Balance economic buildings with parks and recycling centers to manage pollution
  3. Develop your military once your economy is stable
  4. Consider joining an alliance for protection and cooperation
  5. Check your dashboard regularly to manage events and monitor your nation's progress

What should I focus on first?

Focus first on establishing a stable economy. Build farms for food, mines for resources, and factories for production. Once you have consistent resource income, balance your development between military, infrastructure, and environment. Different play styles are viable, so you can emphasize economic power, military strength, or technological advancement based on your preference.

How do I level up my nation?

Your nation gains experience and levels up through various activities: building infrastructure, accumulating resources, increasing population, engaging in battles, conducting research, and daily activities. Higher levels unlock new buildings, military units, and capabilities. Focus on balanced development rather than just one aspect of the game.

Resources & Economy

How do resources work?

Resources are generated every 15 minutes based on your production buildings. The main resources include food, iron, oil, coal, lumber, and uranium. Different buildings produce different resources. For example, farms produce food, mines produce iron and coal, and oil rigs produce oil. Resource production can be affected by pollution levels and your nation's happiness.

What affects my hourly income?

Your hourly income is determined by several factors:

  • Number and level of production buildings (factories, malls, etc.)
  • Resource production and current market values
  • Pollution levels (high pollution reduces production efficiency)
  • Happiness of your population (affects production rates)
  • Special events or economic bonuses

How do I manage pollution?

Pollution is produced by industrial buildings, factories, power plants, and military facilities. High pollution decreases happiness and production efficiency. To manage pollution:

  • Build parks (each reduces pollution and increases happiness)
  • Construct recycling centers (significantly reduce pollution)
  • Invest in solar plants instead of coal or nuclear power when possible
  • Balance industrial development with environmental buildings
  • Strategically place high-pollution buildings

What is happiness and why is it important?

Happiness represents how content your citizens are with your rule. It affects population growth and resource production. Happiness is influenced by pollution levels (negative impact), parks and entertainment complexes (positive impact), ongoing wars (negative impact), and random events. A happy nation grows faster and produces more efficiently than an unhappy one. The happiness percentage is recalculated daily based on all these factors.

Military & Wars

How does the military system work?

The military system in Civomir includes different unit types (soldiers, tanks, aircraft, artillery, submarines, missiles) with varying strengths, weaknesses, and costs. Each nation has unit caps based on their level. Units are built using resources and money, and are used for both offense and defense. Some units are effective against certain types and weak against others, creating a strategic element to military planning.

How do I declare war?

To declare war, navigate to the Diplomacy page, search for the nation you wish to target, and select the "Declare War" option. Wars can only be declared when the global war system is enabled by administrators. Once war is declared, you can attack the enemy nation through the Wars page. Be aware that being at war reduces national happiness and exposes you to counterattacks.

How do battles work?

Battles in Civomir are turn-based. Each side takes turns deploying units and issuing attack commands. Unit effectiveness depends on the unit types involved (for example, tanks are effective against soldiers but vulnerable to aircraft). Strategy involves choosing the right unit combinations and anticipating your opponent's moves. Battles continue until one side's forces are depleted or someone surrenders. The winner gains territory and sometimes resources from the defeated nation.

What are Peace Seasons?

Peace Seasons are periods when wars are globally disabled by administrators. These seasons allow new players to establish themselves and give all players time to focus on economic development without military pressure. A banner at the top of the game indicates when a Peace Season is active. Even during Peace Seasons, it's advisable to maintain a reasonable military for when wars become available again.

Diplomacy & Alliances

How do alliances work?

Alliances are groups of nations that work together for mutual benefit and protection. Any nation can create an alliance or join an existing one (if invited or if the alliance is open to applications). Alliances provide benefits like shared resources through the alliance bank, diplomatic support, military assistance, and a community of players to interact with. Alliance leaders can assign ranks to members, controlling their permissions within the alliance.

How do I join or create an alliance?

To join an existing alliance, go to the Alliances page, browse the list, and either apply directly (if they accept applications) or contact their leadership. To create your own alliance, navigate to the Alliances page and select "Create Alliance." You'll need to provide a name, description, and choose settings like application requirements. Creating an alliance requires a minimum nation level and costs resources.

What diplomatic options are available?

Civomir offers several diplomatic options through the Diplomacy page:

  • Non-Aggression Pacts - Mutual agreements not to attack
  • Trade Agreements - Formalized trading relationships with bonuses
  • Peace Offers - Proposals to end ongoing wars
  • Alliance Treaties - Formal relationships between alliances
  • Declarations of War - Official start of hostilities
  • Direct Messaging - Communication with other nation leaders

Can alliances go to war with each other?

Yes, alliances can engage in warfare through their member nations. When multiple members of one alliance declare war on members of another alliance, it effectively becomes an alliance war. While there is no formal "alliance war" declaration mechanism, coordinated military action between alliance members functions as alliance-level warfare. Leaders often negotiate terms between alliances for ending such conflicts.

Technical Questions

How often does the game update?

Resource production updates occur every 15 minutes. Happiness recalculations happen once per day. Event generation occurs on a random schedule, typically creating 1-3 events per day for active nations. The market and trade offers update in real-time. Battle turns have a 6-hour expiration timer if not taken. The game is designed to allow meaningful progress with daily logins, while rewarding more active players.

What happens if I'm inactive for a while?

Your nation continues to generate resources while you're away, but at a reduced efficiency after 24 hours of inactivity. After 7 days of inactivity, your nation receives less protection from attacks. After 30 days of complete inactivity, administrators may reset inactive nations. Your alliance may also have its own inactivity policies. It's recommended to log in at least once every few days to manage your nation.

How do I report bugs or issues?

To report bugs, exploits, or technical issues, contact an administrator through the in-game messaging system. Include as much detail as possible: what happened, steps to reproduce the issue, and any error messages you received. Screenshots are helpful when applicable. For conduct violations, use the same process but clearly indicate that it's a report about another player.

Is there a mobile version of Civomir?

Currently, Civomir is optimized for desktop browsers, but the web interface is responsive and can be accessed on mobile devices. For the best experience, we recommend using a tablet or desktop computer. A dedicated mobile app may be developed in the future as the game continues to grow.
